In this episode of the Biohacker’s Podcast, Teemu Arina is joined by Jan K. Górczyński – the founder and CEO of BeKeto, a leading brand in the keto and low-carb market across the UK and EU.

In just five years, Jan expanded BeKeto to offer nearly 200 products across multiple categories, achieving a presence in 30 countries. As a serial entrepreneur, his companies generate over 10 million EUR in revenue. Jan is passionate about the execution in both life and business and is deeply committed to healthy living. He is an enthusiast of low-carb and keto diets, biohacking, and enjoys frequent sauna sessions.

Teemu and Jan dive into the evolution of ketogenic nutrition, metabolic performance, and the data-driven approach behind BeKeto’s product line. Jan explains that the company emerged from a gap in the European market. By focusing on ingredient purity, transparent formulations, and repeated glucometer-based validation, BeKeto positioned itself as a trusted source for individuals pursuing sustained ketosis. The discussion emphasizes how stable energy, mental clarity, and appetite regulation arise when the body shifts from glucose dependency to ketone-driven metabolism.

Teemu and Jan further explore the role of exogenous ketones, ketogenic snacks, and electrolyte formulations in supporting performance, recovery, and cognitive output. They highlight consumer misconceptions – particularly the confusion between “dirty keto” and true metabolic ketosis – and underscore the importance of consistency, clean ingredients, and adaptation support. Looking ahead, Jan predicts a convergence between ketogenic nutrition and continuous metabolic monitoring, enabling individuals to tailor diet and supplementation with precision. The episode concludes with a shared message: ketosis is most powerful when approached as a long-term, sustainable lifestyle rooted in intentional choices and measurable data.

Speaker:

Hello, this is Teemu Arina from Biohackerźs Podcast. Today we will be diving into

Speaker:

the ketogenic diet and keto lifestyle.

Speaker:

My guest is Mr.

Speaker:

Jan Górczyński from BeKeto. BeKeto is a premier provider of ketogenic products.

Speaker:

You can check out some of their selection from beketo.uk. They have a huge selection

Speaker:

of some of the best products that I have seen.

Speaker:

I absolutely love their product. I love the branding. i got some

Speaker:

here in the background as well one thing

Speaker:

that i also like is that it's not only nutrition but

Speaker:

it's also other products including of course the keto meters and all that but

Speaker:

i got here the mouth tapes the nasal tapes and Jan has favorably offered to

Speaker:

give you free samples of this if you listen through the rest of the podcast.

Speaker:

But I need now 30% more oxygen intake.

Speaker:

So I'm going to take one of these nose tapes and place it on my nose.

Speaker:

I think like one of those guys who I've seen on the internet who made these

Speaker:

nose tapes quite popular is the guy who built a school platform.

Speaker:

And it's one of the basically like key characters in this whole scene.

Speaker:

So Sam Owens is the guy who founded school, but Alex Hormosi made these nose

Speaker:

tapes very popular by having them in almost every podcast.

Speaker:

And I'm going to put it on as well. And that's what we're going to do now.

Speaker:

Yeah, that's what we're going to do right now. This gives you more oxygen intake.

Speaker:

It's great for workouts. It's great for if you're someone who has like some

Speaker:

sleep disturbances, some sleep apnea or something, you don't get enough air

Speaker:

at night, like try these things.

Speaker:

And if you want to stop snoring, place on a mouth tape as well.

Speaker:

So you can basically tape your whole face and you're going to be a cool biohacker.

Speaker:

Hi, Teemu, how are you? Thank you so much for the nice introduction and thank

Speaker:

you for intro about Bikito. And yeah, just to clarify one thing,

Speaker:

it's not even samples that we're giving out, but full value products.

Speaker:

So go to Bikito, UK, Germany, Poland, France, Italy, Czech, Norway,

Speaker:

wherever you want, you will receive the code in the description of the podcast.

Speaker:

Yeah, it's going to be Barker's podcast and put on the show notes exact details on this.

Speaker:

So let's talk about the trendy keto diet and its purpose.

Speaker:

So ketogenic diet where you increase basically on your macronutrient distribution,

Speaker:

increase the fat intake in favor of carbohydrates.

Speaker:

And sugar obviously is one of those things that people are increasingly afraid of.

Speaker:

Now, I would love to know more about the science and why that is so,

Speaker:

why carbs aren't good for you.

Speaker:

So let's get into that straight away.

Speaker:

So why ketogenic diet? I've been looking at Google Trends and ketogenic diet

Speaker:

has been trending for years.

Speaker:

And I think it started with all these high protein diets, but high fat diets,

Speaker:

especially through the increasing studies coming out on the benefits of increasing

Speaker:

fat intake and also time-restricted eating, cyclico-ketogenic diets,

Speaker:

all of that. So there's a lot to cover here.

Speaker:

And that's also important in terms of hormones and keto for women and keto for men.

Speaker:

It's a little different thing. It's okay for both genders, but as you rightly

Speaker:

pointed out, we need to understand the nuances and the science and the hormones behind this.

Speaker:

So from what I understand and from what I heard, you also were to some extent

Speaker:

a follower of the keto diet, and so is your team members.

Speaker:

I've been doing cyclical ketogenic diet now about 10 years plus.

Speaker:

And more advanced than I am.

Speaker:

Yeah, I've been doing it before the keto became a thing because I'm now looking

Speaker:nd it really picked up around:Speaker:And it peaked around:Speaker:h, I started this like around:Speaker:

And I got into it through an elimination diet.

Speaker:

So I basically just cut out all the inflammatory foods, processed foods, fast carbohydrates.

Speaker:

And I started adding a lot more healthy fats into my diet and also some plant-based

Speaker:

sources like avocados and nuts. I just noticed that I have more energy throughout the day.

Speaker:

So there's less crashes, less sleepiness throughout the day.

Speaker:

So I've been basically using it for my productivity interests.

Speaker:

But in the end, when I've been doing it.

Speaker:

I also started moving calorie intake to the evening.

Speaker:

So I would skip very often breakfast. I would skip lunch and I would eat two

Speaker:

dinners within a four-hour window.

Speaker:

I started doing it because that worked for me.

Speaker:

Now, of course, like we know, one meal a day OMAD diet or time-restricted eating,

Speaker:

where you restrict calorie intake to a portion of the day, not to eat the whole

Speaker:

day, might actually be a healthier approach than eating seven meals a day and

Speaker:

snacks and everything in between.

Speaker:

Yeah. By the way, it is seven snacks a day or seven meals or meals of the size

Speaker:

of your fist, constant strain on your body to get and process all the foods

Speaker:

is ridiculous. And it's actually not coming from anywhere.

Speaker:

So it's a very new finding to eat so many meals a day.

Speaker:

Nowhere ever in the history of humanity have we eaten seven times or five times a day.

Speaker:

So we could really say the time restraining eating or the intermittent fasting,

Speaker:

which is now a very trending thing, is kind of a back to the roots thing.

Speaker:

Yeah, totally. And I think one thing that was quite popular in the early days was the paleo diet.

Speaker:

Paleo diet has kind of like withdrawn

Speaker:

to the background a little bit maybe there was a bit

Speaker:

of promotion on that from the liver king and all

Speaker:

of that to eat organ meats but the hunter-gatherer diet

Speaker:

where you are most of the day you are trying to find food and then you eat in

Speaker:

the evening once you come back from the forest maybe that has been more natural

Speaker:

to our ancestors and maybe it's

Speaker:

natural for us as well to not eat all the time. I think the whole idea of.

Speaker:

Eating snacks all the time is just some industry promoted propaganda that they want to sell products.

Speaker:

So you mentioned that you did keto for productivity, and this was precisely

Speaker:

my case. That's how I started with the diet.

Speaker:

A friend over lunch told me keto is helping him tremendously in productivity and his work.

Speaker:

He has a very busy period of work, and he told me about keto.

Speaker:

I asked, what is the correlation between the keto diet and productivity?

Speaker:

And he said, It's tremendous.

Speaker:

The next day I decided to follow the keto diet to understand it better.

Speaker:

I'm very inquisitive and curious and I love to experiment with everything that's health related.

Speaker:

So are you from what I gather. And I found the keto diet after three weeks of

Speaker:

it just as like a complete game changer.

Speaker:

And I thought, okay, there needs to be something to be done to promote it.

Speaker:

And that's how the whole company started.

Speaker:

Keto is now often used as a weight loss solution and very efficiently so.

Speaker:

But I found myself more in the productivity increase concept.

Speaker:

So I think that we have here two main concepts why people would do low carb diets.

Speaker:

I mean, it's keto and generally decreasing your carb intake.

Speaker:

And there is the science is quite simple here. So why does it work is because

Speaker:

of your insulin spikes and the fact that with the consumption of fats,

Speaker:

your insulin is not constantly going up

Speaker:

and then you don't have the slumps when you go back which is traditionally

Speaker:

what you get in the let's say SAD standard American

Speaker:

diet by the way nice abbreviation SAD and it's actually a SAD diet so that's

Speaker:

what you do with snacking with constantly munching on more meals you never get

Speaker:

your liver to recover your body has no time to get rid of everything.

Speaker:

So that's why time limiting your meals is most likely beneficial for you. And.

Speaker:

The fact that with the constant, you know, five, six meagles a day or little

Speaker:

snacks, whatever, it's little or it's big, you get your blood sugar up.

Speaker:

Yeah. And then it induces the insulin production to lower the blood sugar.

Speaker:

And this is why your energy levels are like this. Yeah. Vactuating.

Speaker:

Basically pretty simple with and with the low carb and higher in fats and healthy

Speaker:

fats, such as, for example, MCTs, diet would get you more on a stable energy

Speaker:

level throughout the day.

Speaker:

I like the analogy of thinking that when you eat carbohydrates,

Speaker:

it's like pouring gasoline into a fire while eating ketogenic diet is like having

Speaker:

a massive log that just burns slowly.

Speaker:

So you have more stable energy.

Speaker:

And what is interesting about cognitive performance and things like nootropics,

Speaker:

many of the supplements that provide cognitive boost, they tend to stabilize blood sugar as well.

Speaker:

So I think this kind of constant fluctuation of blood sugar is connected to.

Speaker:

Restlessness and anxiety and all

Speaker:

kinds of mood issues as well i mean we see it

Speaker:

in children if we give them sugary foods all

Speaker:

the time like they they go absolutely crazy for a

Speaker:

while and then they crash and then the

Speaker:

cycle starts again and you basically set

Speaker:

your day off for that

Speaker:

kind of yo-yo roller coaster up and down

Speaker:

if you start your day with a high carb meal

Speaker:

so after a good night's sleep

Speaker:

you are in a ketogenic state and having some drink like for example one of your

Speaker:

coffees or mushroom drinks with some MCT oil and maybe some ghee or butter maybe

Speaker:

some collagen which is inert in terms of blood sugar spikes,

Speaker:

you will be able to sustain that stable blood sugar throughout the morning and

Speaker:

all the way later to the afternoon.

Speaker:

And there's considerable amount of studies also that show that postponing carbohydrate

Speaker:

intake later in the day is also good for sleep quality and for workouts and many other things.

Speaker:

So one component is melatonin.

Speaker:

So in the morning when you wake up, when you maybe still have circulating melatonin,

Speaker:

melatonin also blocks in the pancreas the release of insulin.

Speaker:

So if you eat like a massive carbohydrate meal, you will have elevated blood

Speaker:

sugar levels because insulin is basically artificially keeping up the blood

Speaker:

sugar levels by inhibiting the release of insulin.

Speaker:

Now, one thing I did cut off like over a decade ago was milk.

Speaker:

And milk has, when you look at these foods, you have like the glycemic index,

Speaker:

which is the glycemic load or like comparable to table sugar.

Speaker:

But then you have also the insulin index, like how fast something is spiking your insulin levels.

Speaker:

And milk specifically, not just through milk sugars, but probably also the hormonal

Speaker:

effects is spiking your insulin quite rapidly.

Speaker:

And even if you have high fat, like you're getting protein from the milk,

Speaker:

you're also setting yourself off for blood sugar fluctuations.

Speaker:

Yeah and this is pretty interesting also and

Speaker:

when you think about milk and the dairy industry and all

Speaker:

the you know over time when i was growing up you

Speaker:

know all the campaigns on dairy on milk gut milk you know that build milk build

Speaker:

your you know bones and give you calcium and the minerals that are so essential

Speaker:

it's it's it's very funny to look from that now from time perspective and And

Speaker:

when you see what actually milk is doing,

Speaker:

and although it's what you mentioned about the insulin spikes,

Speaker:

the very quick insulin spikes from milk, is that even it doesn't have so many,

Speaker:

so much carbohydrates, it still has a lot of milk sugars.

Speaker:

And milk is, we are the only mammals that actually, you know,

Speaker:

adult mammals that drink milk.

Speaker:

So when you compare this and relate this to what we have been before in the

Speaker:

past and to other mammals, you understand that milk is completely not natural drink to have.

Speaker:

And I'm not a huge advocate of milk alternatives, although I do like them and I do drink almond milk.

Speaker:

I do drink coconut milk and I love macadamia milk, which is super limited supplies.

Speaker:

I haven't had cow milk for so many years now.

Speaker:

Yeah, it's one of those things that the industry has marketed to us as like

Speaker:

the healthy thing to have when you start your day.

Speaker:

The calcium for bones is also a little bit misleading because yes,

Speaker:

it has calcium, but it also has compounds that are inhibiting the absorption of the calcium.

Speaker:

So a better source of calcium is actually from like dark leafy green vegetables and stuff like that.

Speaker:

And in the end, you also need vitamin D, you need vitamin K2,

Speaker:

You need all these things for proper bone formation. So you don't only live by calcium alone.

Speaker:

Yeah, which by the way, is not D3 and K2. And, you know, it's funny again,

Speaker:

because we must supplement these vitamins as from the food. It's not possible to really get enough.

Speaker:

Yeah, this is true. We do these nutritional tests where we have the whole habits

Speaker:

platform and nutrition test.

Speaker:

And 95% of people have some nutritional deficiencies, even if they think,

Speaker:

you know, that they're eating a healthy diet, whole foods, all of this.

Speaker:

Like we see routinely deficiencies in vitamin D.

Speaker:

We see deficiencies in selenium, magnesium, zinc. For females, we see iron.

Speaker:

Many of these things that you get from meats, basically.

Speaker:

Like I think the whole plant-based diet industry.

Speaker:

I mean, I understand the environmental concerns, but it's often leading to a

Speaker:

very traumatic view of diet because when you are having these meat replacements,

Speaker:

you are getting actually poorer nutrition because if you think about it,

Speaker:

Animals are concentrating the key nutrients into the organs, into the muscles,

Speaker:

and it requires a tremendous amount of plant matter to get all of that into

Speaker:

a cow, for example, and do the protein synthesis.

Speaker:

And when you start taking something like processed plant foods,

Speaker:

you get, let's take America, for example.

Speaker:

Everything is done out of corn. So you have high fructose corn syrup.

Speaker:

You have corn is added into meat replacements.

Speaker:

You have corn flakes. You have all of that. Now, if you look in Europe,

Speaker:

I'm from the Northern Europe, like we have things like oats and grains.

Speaker:

So then you have a lot of grains added into these plant-based foods.

Speaker:

So when you're having that meat replacement, you're getting a lot of grains

Speaker:

and whatever is in there.

Speaker:

Then you're having your latte with oat milk.

Speaker:

And it's like then looking at the fats, you get a lot of omega-6 fatty acids.

Speaker:

Most of the vegetable oils are also unstable and not very heat resistant.

Speaker:

So you get oxidized, trans fats, I think.

Speaker:

One of the unhealthiest diets is a vegan diet done

Speaker:

wrong with a meat-based diet if you

Speaker:

cut out the carbohydrates the diet is very often more balanced in nutrient intake

Speaker:

compared to a plant-based alternative but yeah i don't mean that you can't do

Speaker:

veganism or vegetarianism right it's definitely possible.

Speaker:

In our database, some of the best biomarkers are actually from vegetarians.

Speaker:

What I have seen, but they go to extreme lengths in making sure that they cook

Speaker:

their own food and they eat a diverse diet, which is very hard to do.

Speaker:

Yeah, but you need to also understand the bias of your database.

Speaker:

It's the database of people that are tremendously into the nutritional space.

Speaker:

They care about the food they do, about the intake.

Speaker:

They know all the biomarkers and they understand the deficiencies in the vegetarian

Speaker:

or vegan diets, and they do replenish this with the proper supplementation.

Speaker:

Like B12 is a good example. You have some really good B12 drops,

Speaker:

for example. You need to use stuff like that.

Speaker:

Yeah, yeah. B12 is actually one of the rare vitamins that you have no possibility

Speaker:

to get from plants. So if you are following a vegan or vegetarian diet,

Speaker:

you must supplement B12. But you must supplement B12.

Speaker:

But in fact, we do have a very nice version and drops with tilicobalamin B12,

Speaker:

which is highly absorbable and diluted in MCT oil, which increases the absorption rate.

Speaker:

It's very interesting what you said. I totally agree with the vegan diet.

Speaker:

I get these questions quite a lot now on, you know, so what do you think about vegan diet?

Speaker:

And I would really not call this a diet, to be honest. It's more of a set of beliefs.

Speaker:

I do absolutely respect this, and I get that you might want to follow vegan diet for.

Speaker:

For your own beliefs, for the purpose of, you know, not doing the footprint

Speaker:

on the animals or you care so much about the animal welfare, et cetera, et cetera.

Speaker:

Because probably there's also more to it in terms of waste and the alternatives.

Speaker:

So I do think that if we get very deep into the ecological footprint of the,

Speaker:

you know, plant-based alternatives, it's also not looking so amazing.

Speaker:

But but for sure it's it's not good for your health and you know i can.

Speaker:

Very often recognize the person that is following a vegan diet just by,

Speaker:

by, you know, by what they look.

Speaker:

And yeah, it's true. The whole skin quality and the paleness and the color and the quality.

Speaker:

So you really need to be very, very careful. And like you said,

Speaker:

probably you will get much more balanced diet, which is only eating meat and

Speaker:

decreasing carbs rather than not ever eating meat.

Speaker:

One of the best diets I've seen is, if you really want to avoid red meat,

Speaker:

is actually to eat vegetarian, so you still include seafood and specifically shellfish.

Speaker:

Because from shellfish, you get all the minerals, you get omega-3s,

Speaker:

you get iodine, all kinds of stuff that often is deficient in a typical vegetarian diet.

Speaker:

If you eat plants and eggs also, it's already like correcting some of the issues

Speaker:

like B12, B vitamins in general, some of the amino acid imbalances.

Speaker:

We also measure amino acids and amino acid imbalances are quite common,

Speaker:

but we do also see those in meat eaters.

Speaker:

So if you only eat steak, you get too much proline, not enough glycine.

Speaker:

There is a clear issue there. So in terms of like protein synthesis.

Speaker:

Having a wide variety of protein sources is a really good idea.

Speaker:

The other thing often meat eaters don't get enough is fiber.

Speaker:

So meat eaters also need to supplement, not necessarily on minerals,

Speaker:

on vitamins, but definitely on fiber.

Speaker:

There's a good amount of studies that show benefits for microbial diversity, immunity, a lot of that.

Speaker:

But then on the other hand, if you are fully vegetarian and you only eat plant

Speaker:

matter, you get a lot of fiber, but often they have a lot of gut issues.

Speaker:

So maybe there is a little bit too much of antinutents. Of fiber, yeah.

Speaker:

Yeah, I mean, it's just unfair, like SIBO, small intestine, bacterial overgrowth

Speaker:

is quite common also in vegetarians.

Speaker:

So yeah, I mean, every diet you can modify and eat more healthy and you can hack it.

Speaker:

And with B keto products, you can hack a vegan or vegetarian diet as well as meat.

Speaker:

Diet as well. Now, ketogenic diet has been originally promoted for preventing

Speaker:

or treating certain diseases.

Speaker:

I think epilepsy is one of those highlights coming out of studies.

Speaker:

There's different inflammatory diseases. I would say like any kind of elimination

Speaker:

diet where you cut out a lot of the crap, you will feel better in two to three years time,

Speaker:

including a vegan diet, which is

Speaker:

done correctly but with animal products the

Speaker:

thing is that you get more of the nutrients in

Speaker:

a more balanced way because the animal already concentrated

Speaker:

them but you do get some things that maybe are cancer promoting one of those

Speaker:

is tmao in the gut you do get sometimes if you grill a lot of things you get

Speaker:

carcinogens like advanced glycation end products But you also get those if you eat plant-based diet.

Speaker:

Because it's from preparation is for sure. Even if you use the best quality

Speaker:

oils and fats for preparing the meals and frying,

Speaker:

you should also take into consideration a smoking point of the oils to better

Speaker:

understand what's good for frying, what's good for cooking.

Speaker:

For example, MCT oil would typically be used as a supplement.

Speaker:

And you can add it to your coffee, pour it over a salad, but rather not fry

Speaker:

with it, because the smoke point is very low, so it's going to burn.

Speaker:

Burned fat is also not good for you.

Speaker:

So, whereas coconut oil, you can easily fry with because of the high smoke point,

Speaker:

so it doesn't get burned and it's good for frying.

Speaker:

The preparation method is, as you mentioned, very important, and also.

Speaker:

It's very crucial to understand that you can do all the diets in the right way and in the wrong way.

Speaker:

And you can hack the diets with our supplements. I can testify to ours,

Speaker:

though, because I know the quality standards and how we put emphasis on the

Speaker:

production quality and the ingredients we use.

Speaker:

It's worth mentioning that at BeKeto here, we are, you know,

Speaker:

the name suggests we're for the keto diet, but we can also provide for anyone.

Speaker:

That wants to hack their lifestyle. If you're a vegetarian, you can hack your

Speaker:

lifestyle, hack your diet with our products.

Speaker:

And if you're keto, we're your go-to one-stop shop solution.

Speaker:

And obviously, this is majority of our company is focused on low-carb diets and keto specifically.

Speaker:

We are developing so many products, so many novelties.

Speaker:

We currently carry 180 SKUs, which

Speaker:

are from foods that you can cook with so the

Speaker:

most healthy alternatives that you can use from

Speaker:

tortillas breads but we really do care for the quality of ingredients we put

Speaker:

so for example the tortillas that we started with you know it initially had

Speaker:

some really poor vegetable oils and it tasted amazing but i said okay we cannot

Speaker:

we cannot really market this because it contains palm oil.

Speaker:

So this is something we never go and stand by.

Speaker:

And so you can hack your diet with the right use of products and right use of

Speaker:

supplements and right health alternatives.

Speaker:

And you can hack any diet. I can see that behind you there is Bikido Konjak,

Speaker:

which is, by the way, organic.

Speaker:

And this is practically calorie-free pasta.

Speaker:

So something that can give you all the goodness of the sauce and a nice filling

Speaker:

with no constraints on the calorie intake or the carbs intake.

Speaker:

And in fact, it's super filling because the flour is very magical. It absorbs water.

Speaker:

It's made of 80% to 90% of water, but it's also good for your gut as a fiber.

Speaker:

So you can look into the alternatives and into the healthier solutions in any

Speaker:

diet you're looking for.

Speaker:

And that's what I would probably try to convince to do, to always look into

Speaker:

the healthier alternatives because you can probably always find them.

Speaker:

Yeah. Yeah, looking at the way you categorize your products,

Speaker:

you have the B-Keto kitchen products, which is for cooking.

Speaker:

Anything from bread to pasta to spaghetti.

Speaker:

You've got the snacks. So keto bars are obviously like big sellers.

Speaker:

We also sell a lot of keto products in terms of just quick snacks.

Speaker:

But then you have the supplements you have all the key stuff

Speaker:

there including mcp oil and

Speaker:

exogenous ketones and keto fat

Speaker:

burners and electrolytes collagen protein

Speaker:

powders and your creatine is one that i really like but yeah i mean this is

Speaker:

innovative before i saw this product i actually never i have to test i have

Speaker:

never tried organic conioc powder first when i saw this product i I thought

Speaker:

it's like some kind of cognac flavored pasta,

Speaker:

but it's no, it's actually pretty delicious alternative.

Speaker:

And in the label carbohydrates, sugar is zero.

Speaker:

So there's like 1.3 grams of carbs, but out of that zero grams of sugar.

Speaker:

So it's a pretty good fulfilling fiber source for sure.

Speaker:

And we also got the keto bread.

Speaker:

Powder here it's very typical that

Speaker:

when you go to a restaurant they bring you

Speaker:

bread as the first thing so you start with dessert basically

Speaker:

and if you start with keto bread you're getting

Speaker:

basically what we have here in 100 grams

Speaker:

we have five grams of carbohydrates out of that two grams sugars there's actually

Speaker:

more fats in this one there's like 33 grams of fats then there's fiber some

Speaker:

protein so it's a very protein fat rich alternative to bread this this one specific.

Speaker:

Yeah this is what you mentioned with the bread in

Speaker:

the restaurant obviously we're so used to it that if we don't get

Speaker:

it people sometimes ask when i'm following the

Speaker:

strict keto diet because i'm not so strong in

Speaker:

my mind if it sits in front of me i'm probably going

Speaker:

to have it so when it comes i just say to the waiter no

Speaker:

thanks because if he's going to put it on your table and your

Speaker:

will is not strong enough you will grab it so i'm a big fan of if you don't

Speaker:

want to eat the cookies then don't go to the kitchen saying so i just say no

Speaker:

thank you to the bread that is served before the meal and by the way it's not

Speaker:

worth the calories and if you're going to a nice restaurant you probably should enjoy,

Speaker:

the nice dish and skip the bread yeah and in terms of snacks like i'm not a

Speaker:

big fan of for stopping more pills.

Speaker:

There is enough supplements in my cabin. So I am always looking for ways to eat my supplements.

Speaker:

So of course, like mixing things in coffee, like it could be a mushroom or a

Speaker:

coffee-based drink or cacao-based drink.

Speaker:

But what we have here is the gummies. So we have creatine gummies.

Speaker:

So a nice way to use creatine.

Speaker:

In a gummy form i i would also

Speaker:

imagine or are you using gelatin

Speaker:

on this or what is no it's pectin it's pectin based

Speaker:

so it's actually a plant alternative uh and

Speaker:

this is so in my belief whenever we

Speaker:

can use the plant alternative and it does

Speaker:

not compromise on the health benefits and makes sense

Speaker:

we do it so we have a lot of vegan products that are

Speaker:

not of animal origin but we do

Speaker:

it only if there is no compromise

Speaker:

on the benefits and here using gelatin in

Speaker:

the gummies is there that does not bring you any health benefits and

Speaker:

pectin is just yeah the dosages are not high

Speaker:

enough yeah well then actually using

Speaker:

the collagen powder makes a lot more sense now in terms of this green one green

Speaker:

apple this is actually keto gummy is for i would say like for fat burning because

Speaker:

it has garcinia cambogia and green coffee extracts both shown to.

Speaker:

Speed up fat burning.

Speaker:

That's exactly what the properties that we kind of promote plus the biotin,

Speaker:

which is good for the hair.

Speaker:

But also, just to be very, and you know, I love to be transparent and I would

Speaker:

like to be this kind of responsible food producer or supplements producer.

Speaker:

So it's important to communicate that you

Speaker:

cannot really substitute your daily

Speaker:

dose of supplementation with gummies there is a limited space

Speaker:

in the gummy to put a limited amount of vitamins i would treat this as the most

Speaker:

healthy alternative to a gummy that is functionally good for you but it's not

Speaker:

a substitute for your creatine intake because you would have to eat too many

Speaker:

yeah and then eating too many is again counter you know counterintuitive for your health,

Speaker:

so what I'm trying to say is that.

Speaker:

You need to be really aware and you really need to understand what you're doing

Speaker:

and what's the purpose of each product.

Speaker:

So for example, we do have chocolates, but that contain MCT oils.

Speaker:

And this is even we could say like a supplement because this chocolate is actually amazing for you.

Speaker:

It has fiber, it has high quality fats, it has MCT.

Speaker:

But again, if you overindulge in anything, It's not good for you.

Speaker:

I want to promote this transparency and awareness.

Speaker:

And that's why on some products we say consume in moderation.

Speaker:

Treat yourself, but don't overindulge. To do everything in moderation or in

Speaker:

the right doses would be one of

Speaker:

the aspects that you can incorporate into biohacking and health hacking.

Speaker:

I have also behind me, I got some of your nut butters, macadamia,

Speaker:

vanilla stuff like there is, you have vegan, those are great.

Speaker:

So the sugar that you often use is xylitol or erythriol.

Speaker:

Personally, I'm not a big fan of erythriol or sugar alcohols in general.

Speaker:

I like to usually like put a little bit of those and then other forms of carbs also in it.

Speaker:

Even honey sometimes a little bit because it

Speaker:

kind of like rounds up the taste profile

Speaker:

so when i use your nut butters

Speaker:

i like to just put like a pinch of of honey and

Speaker:

it like the end result is is is less tasting like sugar alcohol so that's a

Speaker:

little hack for anyone who looks for this but i understand like manufacturers

Speaker:

want to go like low carb low sugar like zero carbs and that's why they use super alcohols

Speaker:

but I like to add just a little bit and in this way you can also because of

Speaker:

the super alcohols you can cut,

Speaker:

down the, if you want sweet taste you can cut it into like.

Speaker:

You know one tenth one fifth and that

Speaker:

works pretty well in my case yeah yeah well

Speaker:

it's not it's of course not the best you

Speaker:

know any form of sweet taste is not the best but i love sweet taste erythritol

Speaker:

is what we found and stevia what we found the the best alternatives for for

Speaker:

you and for the body and erythritol not being completely not being metabolized

Speaker:

it means that That, you know,

Speaker:

it gives you a little guilt-free pleasure.

Speaker:

But never, again, overindulge.

Speaker:

Moderation is a key word here.

Speaker:

Yeah, and you also add fibers in this. So you have apple skin,

Speaker:

you got things like that.

Speaker:

So there's different formulations. So people can check the website for those.

Speaker:

I think your products look and taste very premium.

Speaker:

And the price is affordable. So it really strikes a nice balance right there.

Speaker:

Some of your supplements I like also.

Speaker:

So the different fat burners. You have some innovative products also in the

Speaker:

electrolyte section. You have like Ketolites.

Speaker:

Can you talk a little bit about those product ideas?

Speaker:

Yeah, so I think one of our best sellers and key innovations were the Ketolites

Speaker:

range started with capsules. It was one of the initial 26 SKUs that we launched,

Speaker:

Bigito, and then did in a powder form.

Speaker:

So the powders are enriched with astaxanthin, vitamin C, enriched in sodium,

Speaker:

potassium, calcium, with amazing flavors, flavorings, very natural.

Speaker:

And especially doing a keto diet, but generally in any diet,

Speaker:

but in the keto diet specifically, you must really care for the electrolyte balance.

Speaker:

As sodium is depleted much quicker on the low-carb diet from your body,

Speaker:

you need to replenish this.

Speaker:

So in order to restore the balance, the electrolyte balance,

Speaker:

which is so crucial for how you feel, for how your head is working,

Speaker:

and for general feeling, positive feeling of your body, it's so important to

Speaker:

restore and keep the water balance.

Speaker:

In check and these products we knew that we need to

Speaker:

come up with formulas that are sugar-free that are good

Speaker:

for you there is no glucose no uh

Speaker:

spikes and we tested so many formulations and i believe we came up with something

Speaker:

that is super good for you we hyped it a little bit with astaxanthin which is

Speaker:

longevity mineral from from the atacama desert and and and yeah that's the range

Speaker:

and i I think our viewers,

Speaker:

listeners, they can go to websites and check out the products.

Speaker:

And I'm really surprised, by the way, with how well you are prepared to,

Speaker:

you know, and then this is something that is completely admirable about you

Speaker:

is the way how you understand everything and, you know, get into the tiny details

Speaker:

of and prepare yourself.

Speaker:

I mean, I really, I really admire you for that.

Speaker:

Yeah, thank you. The products are interesting because there has been a lot of

Speaker:

keto products on the market. Many of them are actually crap.

Speaker:

I would say that's one of the problems with the supplement industry is that

Speaker:

the keto lifestyle is often targeted to people who go to the gym and like protein

Speaker:

bars and keto bars and all of that, zero carbs.

Speaker:

But often they are made out of the worst possible

Speaker:

food additives and ingredients so your

Speaker:

products are relatively clean and they

Speaker:

have innovative details to it and that's

Speaker:

a really good direction to go as a manufacturer in

Speaker:

this time and age when consumers are

Speaker:

more and more educated about what they're putting into their mouths the

Speaker:

thing is that if you want to get into this lifestyle

Speaker:

you can get all the raw ingredients but

Speaker:

then like coming up with the formulations that also taste great

Speaker:

i really like the flavoring of

Speaker:

your products and formulations as well idea of using mct oil as the carrier

Speaker:

oil for some of your droppers like the b b12 the vitamin a plus e which i need

Speaker:

because i'm deficient on those vitamins at the moment vitamin d.

Speaker:

That's cool because many of the products on the market are alcohol-based or

Speaker:

they are made out of sometimes even vegetable oils.

Speaker:

Yeah, or glycerin and glycerol. So this is, yeah, I find this really great for

Speaker:

the NCD to be the carrier.

Speaker:

It also increases the absorption rate. For some reason, our customers that we

Speaker:

call B-ketonians, by the way, are not so fond of the liquid vitamins.

Speaker:

The absorption rate and the bioavailability of these products is amazing.

Speaker:

It also dissolves extremely quickly in your system if you do it under the tongs.

Speaker:

These are the products that we need to really focus on in promoting now because

Speaker:

it's not exactly where we'd want them to be.

Speaker:

In terms of hot beverages, I've been putting collagen into my drink for a long

Speaker:

time and then MCT oil and some other things.

Speaker:

You have a great product line of collagen plus MCT oil products.

Speaker:

So there's different flavors, anything from chocolate and vanilla,

Speaker:

which is great for coffee drinks.

Speaker:

And there's also unflavored ones, but you also have things like matcha.

Speaker:

So you can have matcha. And if collagen is not your thing and you want to use

Speaker:

something like whey protein, there is whey options as well.

Speaker:

But anyway, the whole keto lifestyle, you call your customers B ketonians, why do you,

Speaker:

Is it so popular in the end?

Speaker:

What are the actual effects and benefits one is getting from getting into a

Speaker:

diet like this? How quickly can they see results?

Speaker:

What are the health aesthetic benefits of a diet like this?

Speaker:

So I would probably go to the two main reasons that people are trying to follow the diet.

Speaker:

And ultimately, it's either you want to lose weight, which is a great benefit, by the way.

Speaker:

But I would consider this as a side effect. of the keto diet.

Speaker:

And that's how it was for me. And that's how you should really think about it as a side effect.

Speaker:

It's almost always better to lose weight than not lose weight.

Speaker:

Because, you know, in our times with obesity rates getting to 60%,

Speaker:

let's talk about the first world,

Speaker:

let's talk about Europe or the more economically developed countries.

Speaker:

It's definitely much easier to die because of obesity rather than of starvation.

Speaker:

Obesity and health-related issues to obesity are causing more deaths than starvation.

Speaker:

And that's what we need to understand when we think about the concept of dieting and losing weight.

Speaker:

It's one of the biggest health concerns and health problems in our times.

Speaker:

Keto diet is not no magic pill. And I would really love to stress that it takes

Speaker:

some time for people to see the benefits and to lose weight.

Speaker:

It can be extremely quick as well. And you can lose 10 kilos in a month,

Speaker:

depending on where you start.

Speaker:

But it can be very quick. You lose a lot of water and then you lose weight.

Speaker:

As a consequence, then you need to understand

Speaker:

what is really your your ideal

Speaker:

optimal weight for you and then follow the

Speaker:

diet according to your tailored needs so

Speaker:

you need to be really aware of of where you are going in order to go in the

Speaker:

right direction but i think for losing weight there's no better solution than

Speaker:

the keto diet than cutting carb cutting out carbs and you know increasing healthy

Speaker:

fats and it can be only beneficial for you So you do some fat burners,

Speaker:

you increase your metabolism, you add MCT to your diet,

Speaker:

you have more MCTs, by the way, medium chain triglycerides.

Speaker:

So one of the very rare fats that are not stored in your body.

Speaker:

So they're directly transformed in your liver to ketones.

Speaker:

And that's your optimal source of energy.

Speaker:

Compared to GLP-1 drugs, you know, it's maybe a little bit long-term.

Speaker:

Longer effect, and it takes a little more time, but for sure it's much more

Speaker:

sustainable and with no backfiring effects on your body.

Speaker:

So if there is a simple solution like the magic pill of GLP-1 drugs,

Speaker:

then I would probably go for the keto diet because not only can help you lose

Speaker:

weight as a side effect, but it can help you optimize your health and really

Speaker:

stabilize a lot of your biomarkers, increase your results on so many levels.

Speaker:

And then the second goal that people are often following is the productivity

Speaker:

optimization, which you have mentioned.

Speaker:

This is because your brain runs on two types of fuel. And one is sugar, the carbs.

Speaker:

And this is what we are used to.

Speaker:

And then the probably more optimal and more stable is the fats.

Speaker:, as you mentioned, tested in:Speaker:

So we have already a lot of research and a lot of studies on how it benefits your brain.

Speaker:

But in terms of neurodegenerative diseases, such as epilepsy that was initially

Speaker:

treated for children, this is because the neurons are less active when they're going into fat.

Speaker:

So you don't have the seizures. You decrease the number of seizures rapidly.

Speaker:

And then this goes in line with why keto and why fats is good for your brain.

Speaker:

Because it doesn't get those rushes and those spikes and those crazy ideas speaking

Speaker:

in a very simple language.

Speaker:

So it's also interesting that different parts of your brain are active on the

Speaker:

keto diet when you're solving a problem and on the carbohydrate-based diet.

Speaker:

So if you want to optimize either or your performance, then keto would be probably

Speaker:

close to the best solutions that you can have.

Speaker:

And with the right hacks and optimization and supplementation.

Speaker:

You can really have this as your lifestyle. It can be sustainable.

Speaker:

It can be easy to follow.

Speaker:

Because we have a lot of snacks, a lot of foods, a lot of breads, etc.

Speaker:

You can use it, and you can also not use it.

Speaker:

Probably not using this can be even better for you.

Speaker:

But then to have a really nice lifestyle, to get the long-term benefits,

Speaker:

and not having the diet cannot be a burden for you.

Speaker:

It cannot be a cross to bear for you, you know, that you are on diet,

Speaker:

and you are dying, and you hate it, etc. It must be nice for you.

Speaker:

And because only then it will work for you in the long run.

Speaker:

And so we are here for the long-term effects and for the long-term benefits

Speaker:

of the people that are following any diet specifically, but especially focusing

Speaker:

on the low-carb and keto diet.

Speaker:

And what do you, just to go into the last thing is because we're health optimizers as well.

Speaker:

So keto is one thing. And then what we are doing with the biohacking space,

Speaker:

by the way, launching with at Hololife and with you was the nose tapes,

Speaker:

the mouth tapes and the glasses that I'm currently wearing, the blue light blocking glasses.

Speaker:

And it's kind of what is part of the bigger picture. So we want to become the

Speaker:

leader in the biohacking longevity.

Speaker:

Keto space, we are, you know, probably in Europe for sure in Europe,

Speaker:

number one, but the other fields is because we're really interested in optimizing

Speaker:

performance, optimizing health and doing good for the people.

Speaker:

And I know it sounds like a cliche, but it really, that's what it is.

Speaker:

Right. Yeah. So anyway, consumers need an easy platform to enter a new lifestyle

Speaker:

and you're definitely providing that for people and based on the latest evidence

Speaker:

and cleanest ingredients and well-formulated,

Speaker:

great tasting products, that's what they need.

Speaker:

I totally see like expanding this portfolio to the other aspects of healthy

Speaker:

lifestyle makes a lot of sense.

Speaker:

Now, in terms of if people want to learn more about these products,

Speaker:

I think they're already convinced they want to try some and you have a great

Speaker:

offer for them for nasal tapes and mouth tapes alongside with their order.

Speaker:

Where can they find more information on your products? browse through the selection.

Speaker:

Yes, I think even your store carries our product, you know best.

Speaker:

And you are the hub for biohackers and health optimizers and people that are

Speaker:

really aware of where they're going.

Speaker:

You're the guru of the niche of the niches.

Speaker:

And then for Bikito, we have local domains in a few countries already.

Speaker:

So you can go to bikito.uk, .de for Germany, .pl for Poland,

Speaker:

.it for Italy and .cz in Czechia. Bikido is present in Norway as well.

Speaker:

So that's everywhere where the offer will be available.

Speaker:

So Biohacker podcast code, you'll receive two gifts with total value of 25 pounds,

Speaker:

which is, I think, quite nice with your order.

Speaker:

And this is our generous offer to anyone that wants to increase their health

Speaker:

and optimize their lives.

Speaker:

And it's because of our partnership with you guys. We want to be that generous.

Speaker:

It will be time-limited offer a little bit, by the way, but not super.

Speaker:

We can't probably, we don't know when we're going to launch the podcast yet.

Speaker:

So I don't want to give any dates, but it will be.

Speaker:

A little limited so better to do it quickly yeah perhaps for the rest of the

Speaker:

year yeah that's what i think you can follow be keto global on instagram and

Speaker:

keto president is jan's personal account,

Speaker:

and if you're from paul and i think be keto pl is one of your accounts as well,

Speaker:

and it's the check out hololifecenter.com check

Speaker:

out be keto.uk.d.it.pl all

Speaker:

of those for that and you can use the code

Speaker:

biohacker podcast for your

Speaker:

nasal tapes and mouth tapes get a

Speaker:

generous shopping cart full of great products

Speaker:

so in terms of like differences between people these are great products for

Speaker:

if you're a vegan or if you're a vegetarian or if you are carnivore or a mixed

Speaker:

eater but all of that for this low carb lifestyle.

Speaker:

There is gender differences, of course, that is often discussed about ketogenic diet things.

Speaker:

No one is saying that you have to adhere like a crazy person,

Speaker:

basically like go super low on carbs. If you're a woman, maybe cycling in and

Speaker:

out, carbohydrates is a good idea for hormonal balance.

Speaker:

Most people will benefit if they've never done it to at least try this for one

Speaker:

or two months. It's not dangerous.

Speaker:

Quite the contrary, you might see fat loss. You might see lower inflammation.

Speaker:

You might see improvements in focus, attention, energy levels.

Speaker:

And it's no longer only for people who have some condition to treat it with.

Speaker:

It's for everyone who wants to live a more balanced lifestyle. I love that.

Speaker:

People are sometimes suspicious of trying something new, but how do you know

Speaker:

if you have never tried, right?

Speaker:

Yeah. That was my experience when I got into elimination diet and ketogenic diet.

Speaker:

That I was like, why didn't I know this before?

Speaker:

That you can actually, with simple tweaks, completely transform your body and mind.

Speaker:

And it happens quite rapidly.

Speaker:

There is an adaptation period, of course, with ketogenic diets.

Speaker:

You might feel a little bit wonky in the beginning until your body really gets

Speaker:

used to using fats as the primary fuel source, and MCT oils help.

Speaker:

And that's where MCT oils help, and electrolytes and

Speaker:

ketolites from the keto help as well yeah when you

Speaker:

cut off carbohydrates you need more minerals so it is not for people who are

Speaker:

scared of salt and sodium actually you need more of that when you're on a ketogenic

Speaker:

diet you need less of it when you're on a high carb diet you need more of it

Speaker:

when you're on a carb diet,

Speaker:

All right, let's put some nose tapes on and mouth tapes and get our keto drinks

Speaker:

ready. And shut up. Yeah.

Speaker:

And enjoy the rest of the day. So thank you so much, Jan, and looking forward

Speaker:

to meeting you in our next events as well.

Speaker:

Thank you, Teemu, so much. It was a real pleasure to talk with you. You're so inspiring.

Speaker:

Thank you. All right. Be well.
